Girl, Eat Your Veggies: Vitamin A

There is a super vitamin that you never knew you needed. Are you suffering from a weak immune system that keeps you sick for days on end? Are you suffering from poor vision and can barely see your hand in front of your face?

The vitamin I speak of is Vitamin A. This vitamin is essential for the health of your eyes, immune system, body organs and so much more.

You might ask, “What if I’m not getting enough Vitamin A? What happens?” Well the answer is simple: you could really cause damage to your body if you don't get enough Vitamin A.

If you experience the following, you may be low in Vitamin A:

  • Chronically dry skin

  • Very dry eyes

  • Night blindness

  • Infertility

  • Throat and chest infections

  • Poor wound healing

If you are experiencing any of the symptoms above, don’t worry! Vitamin A is easy to find in a supplement form or in these healthy plant-based foods:

I can’t stress this enough, get your Vitamin A, sis. This isn’t the only nutrient that’s important but it’s a good place to start. Don’t forget about Vitamin B-12. It’s a nutrient that many plant-based eaters are severely deficient in.
